First released by the United States Mint in 1986, the American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin is the only silver bullion coin whose weight and purity are guaranteed by the United States Government. The American Eagle contains a minimum of one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. It is also the only silver coin approved for TIAA Bank precious metals IRAs.
