TIAA Bank to Honor ‘Community Champions’

Teaming up with the Jacksonville Jaguars, eight fans will be honored for their equitable, educational and environmental work

Jacksonville, Fla., April 20, 2022 — TIAA Bank wants Jags fans to nominate “community champions” who will be rewarded for their work to make the Jacksonville community more equitable, improve education and help the environment.

Fans have until May 6 to nominate a community champion by visiting tiaabank.com/communitychampion. In partnership with the Jacksonville Jaguars, TIAA Bank will provide winners with VIP, field-level tickets to a game, where their stories get told on the big screens. TIAA Bank will also make a $1,000 donation to a charity each winner chooses.

Last year’s honorees included the founder of a nonprofit that provides computer programing for low-income students in elementary, middle and high school, as well as a teacher who helped students apply for colleges and receive financial aid. This marks TIAA Bank’s latest endeavor with the Jaguars. In the past, for example, the bank and the team have also worked on an award-winning project called One Team. One Home. Since the program began in 2018, the groups have supplied both volunteers and funding to help make home ownership possible for dozens of families throughout six Northeast Florida counties and seven different Habitat for Humanity affiliates.
