TIAA Bank teams up with the LPGA to teach financial fundamentals in Charlotte

Local LPGA-USA Girls Golf Site swings into action at kickoff event

Charlotte, N.C. — Aug. 13, 2021 — Continuing its commitment to serve the community, TIAA Bank has teamed up with the Ladies Professional Golf Association to teach financial fundamentals to Charlotte area youth. LPGA-USA Girls Golf – A Perfect Swing Charlotte becomes the newest addition to the list of TIAA Bank sponsored sites. The partnership will officially launch on Saturday, Aug. 14, at Sunset Hills Golf Course where the program will host a clinic for girls ages 6-17.

TIAA Bank has been a sponsor of LPGA Girls Golf since 2015. The Charlotte site will mark the seventh program supported and sponsored by the bank.

“At LPGA-USGA Girls golf we believe that girls can do and be anything they set their minds to,” said Ashaunta Epps, LPGA-USA Girls Golf Charlotte site director. “Through the ‘Five Es of Girls Golf,’ we inspire girls to not only become well-rounded golfers, but well-rounded individuals.”

The no-cost kickoff event hosted by LPGA-USGA Girls Golf at A Perfect Swing Charlotte, will be held at Sunset Hills Golf Course from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Open to girls ages 6-17 with an interest in golf, the day will incorporate both golf fundamentals and financial education activities based on the Five E’s of LPGA*USGA Girls Golf: Empower, Enrich, Engage, Exercise, and Energize. Participants will learn valuable financial skills while also practicing their swings.
