Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Kansas City Chiefs: An Epic Showdown Marks Inaugural Game at EverBank Stadium

The Sept. 17 home opener is another first at EverBank Stadium

JACKSONVILLE, FL, Sept. 14, 2023 EverBank celebrates the dawn of an era at the newly renamed EverBank Stadium with the Jacksonville Jaguars’ first home game against the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Sept. 17.

Formerly known as TIAA Bank Field, the Jaguars’ home turf was renamed EverBank Stadium in August, following the completion of TIAA Bank’s sale of the bank to new private investors. However, as the city and its loyal Jags fans know, the name EverBank is not new. The bank is again going to market as EverBank, under a familiar name and a fresh new brand that defines the bank’s go-forward focus on growth, innovation and service to clients and communities across the country.

“For more than a decade, we’ve proudly partnered with the Jaguars, and we’re excited to continue building on a legacy of unwavering dedication to the Jacksonville community together,” said Greg Seibly, EverBank’s Chief Executive Officer. “The incredible outpouring of support we’ve seen for the EverBank Stadium name says a lot about this partnership and what it means to the First Coast community. In the years ahead, we look forward to deepening our connection with the Jaguars and the community, both on and off the field.”

The journey of the stadium's names symbolizes the evolving spirit of Jacksonville. Originally called Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, the stadium was first renamed EverBank Field in 2010. Jaguars fans embraced “The Bank,” a nickname that not only the fans but the team itself adopted. With EverBank returning to the stadium's title, “The Bank” will solidify its place in the Jaguars' tradition.

“Our long partnership with EverBank has been incredibly beneficial for the fans and community here in Jacksonville,” said Mark Lamping, President of the Jacksonville Jaguars. “We hope everyone is excited as we are to open the next chapter of this partnership and continue making a positive impact in the community. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at The Bank for our home opener.”

The stadium renaming does not merely reflect a cosmetic change -- it signifies an important part of the new EverBank brand. EverBank finalized its transition to the new brand on September 12, with a renewed commitment to providing innovative, client-centric solutions nationwide.

"The EverBank brand has always represented forward-looking optimism, confidence, and trust. This renewed era at The Bank embraces that legacy of unmatched service and high-value products that enable our clients nationwide to reach their own definition of success,” said Megan Johnson, EverBank’s Chief Marketing Officer.
