Fifty-one years after the release of the original gold bullion Krugerrand, the South African Mint and Rand Refinery jointly released the first silver bullion Krugerrand in 2018. The design on the coin features the emblematic prancing springbok (as designed by Coert Steynberg) and the bust of Paul Kruger (as designed by Otto Shultz) surrounded by 200 serrations. This coin is legal tender in South Africa and has a face value of 1 rand.
